I absolutely love this latest book in the Almost Human series! I would get excited at some points, then have my hopes dashed. Then I would be devastated by a turn of events, just to feel a glimmer of hope as I read further! I really loved the way Ms. Nowak further developed the characters in this story. I found myself identifying with almost all of the female characters in some small way, even the more disappointing characteristics. Upon reading some of the initial reviews that came in, I thought that the outcome was different than how I am interpreting it now. For those who are Team Cain, don't give up! For those who are Team Ben, it is still too soon to make that call, but at this point things are working in his favor. For the ladies who are rooting for Sindy, it still might have a happily ever after, but the same is true for those who are rooting for Felicity. I even fell a little bit in love with Elric in this story! I believed all along that this book would be worth the wait, and it certainly was. Excellent job, and I'm already anticipating the next one!

I have loved this series from the beginning! I am Team Cain, so this book has been heartbreaking, but skillfully written. Melanie takes us through all the emotions of joy to sorrow. The details of how Allie is discovering her abilities is so vivid, that you can see everything in your mind's eye. I couldn't put the book down and devoured every word. Melanie, congratulations on another very satisfying piece of the puzzle! I have waited very impatiently for this book and was not disappointed in the least. However, being a member of Team Cain, I was disappointed to have to continue to wait for the final resolution of his relationship with Felicity. I loved Cain's interactions with Felicity in this book. They were both beautiful and heart wrenching.

I love all the twists and turns that this story have taken. We get to learn so much more about our favorites and get better insight into characters that have not had a prominent role so far in the story. This book makes me very excited and anxious for the future.
Those that love the series will not be disappointed.

As I do with all you books, I quickly read them, then start back over with the first book and read thru the entire series, so I get to relive the entire story. I have no words to express how much I love this series and the characters!

I love that you choose to remain independent and tell each story exactly the way you want to, but there is a part of me that wishes you had an entire team that could helo you get your beautiful stories to us sooner. I can't imagine waiting another seven or more years to find out the end to Cain and Felicity's story -)!

Thank you for another peek into the lives of these fascinating characters. Looking forward to the next installment.

WOW!! I have waited for this book for so long, and it was SO WORTH THE WAIT!! I have so loved this series from the beginning, and Melanie does NOT dissappoint with this one. The characters in this series are well developed, and I find myself living vicariously through each of them as I get so emotionally involved. I have to admit that I don't love all the characters, and found myself getting frustrated with a few of them, but they all play very important roles as this series continues to amaze me. The romance, action, drama, heartache, suspense, emotional, and very intense read had me not able to put my kindle down. I cried, laughed, and sat on the edge of my seat throughout the whole book as I have when reading all the books in this series. Thank you so much Melanie Nowak, and I look forward to more books in this series coming hopefully really soon!!!!

My heart is breaking for Cain, is love for Felicity is crippling, reading the letters he writes brings tears to my eyes. I wish he had never pushed her away!!!!
Allie grows up in this book, learning to use her new powers has come with a price, and towards the end she realizes this.
Sindy...well, it seems like she really wants to be a better person and she does a good deed only to have it backfire on her, I did like her better in this book.
Mattie, he finally has gotten some backbone towards the end of this book and it's long overdue. If he wants to keep up with Allie he has to stop being her doormat.
I highly recommend this series, you do need to start at the beginning, this is not a stand alone book, each and every story is wonderful as you see the people and the vampires go forward with their lives.
