Vivian is an unhappy housewife. Her husband Michael loves her. He works hard, makes good money and only asks that she be his wife in all ways. Unfortunately, she's selfish, hateful and horrible to him. Michael finally has enough and gives her an ultimatum to see a sex therapist. He will literally do anything to make their marriage work. From here the story takes a major turn.

Vivian finds herself in a position where she's being blackmailed; kidnapped and finally trained as a sex slave. She can't help but become attached to the men involved. Each one makes her feel something different. But they've told her she'll soon be sold to her new master. She feels guilty for enjoying what she knows is wrong and that Michael will never know what happened to her.

There are some dark aspects to this story. The thing that bothered me the most is the main thing I don't want to spoil. Some of the scenes are a little intense, but through everything I never really felt Vivian was forced to do something she didn't want. She was given choices and the resulting circumstances were because of the decisions she made. I never was very clear as to why Vivian treated Michael the way she did or what happened to make her feel he thought she was a burden. I never got that vibe from him at all. I suppose she was just a miserable person, but I'd like to think she's happier at the end.

Guilty Pleasures Pleasure House Book 1 edition by Kitty Thomas Romance eBooks Reviews

What the hell did I just read?!?! Wow. Ok. I really dont know what to say about this one. The writing was perfect. But this story is twisted. I had a hard time wrapping my brain around it. I always scoff when I see reviews say the book gave them nightmares. But this was really did give me some jacked up dreams. Another review compares it to the movie "The Game". Thats a great comparison! Ive only read one of Kitty Thomas's books which was Comfort Food. I should have learned my lesson then. Im ashamed to admit it but...I actually did like this one. The characters are very well defined. Great writing. Just a LOT of content to push through! Wow, well done Ms. Thomas...
I absolutely LOVED this book!!
I could empathise with Vivian and I really enjoyed the storyline.
Don't get me wrong, this is a dark dub-con story, but I found myself liking the "bad guys"as well as the heroine.
I found myself despairing at moments, and elated with the ending!
I highly recommend this as the perfect introduction to Kitty Thomas's dark, dark writing.

Then her mundane life gets very crazy when Vivian meets Lindsay, Anton and Gabe. It's an intense story with passion, many surprises and a plot with lots of twists and turns. It was a hard book to put down; I kept thinking just one more chapter!
This book rocked. I was hooked straight away as the story unfolded. It took three friends of the women's husband to reveal who she really was under the guise of treatment. The main female character is confused and weak so the transformation goes according to plan with a few rebellious episodes to make the sessions interesting. I figured out how the story would end pretty quickly when the husband went away but the writing is compelling and seduces your interest so I was incapable of not proceeding. Yes there are times when this tale feels stretched but your imagination realizes this is fantasy so you enjoy the direction it takes. I do hope the author expands on this group of characters as I became attached to the three friends and can see room for many more experiences with this crowd in future books. It would also be nice to see a second installment to how Michael pans out with the wife of his dreams in her new role. A riveting read that can entertain the darkness in your imagination. So glad its not real.
Vivian is in an unhappy marriage. Her husband, Michael, who can't understand what is going on with his wife, sends her to see a therapist to help her through her issues, and instead she ends up secretly getting involved in a whole other thing she never bargained for.

I enjoyed reading Guilty Pleasures, however, it was fairly predictable. I was almost sure I knew what the ending would be like, and I was right (I won't write a spoiler).

I hope that the author will consider continuing with the story and make it into a series, either exploring some of the other characters, or continuing with Michael and . She did write a prequel to this book which does go into some of the background of a few of the characters.
First let me say that I feel like I've read this somewhere before. I wonder if it was ever published on a free site for erotica. The overall concept certainly captures the imagination. I do like the ending that was added from what I previously read...which is more of a prelude than an ending and gives insight into the "masters" motivation.

I suppose what offends my sensibilities with this story is the same that captured my interest. (How typically female of me) But the dubious consent did prove problematic for me to understand "master's" justification. I get that the events were driven by this wife's discontent with her life, sex and her marriage. Without giving away the ending, It is hard for me to say what bothers me the most about this story. Trust, being one of the major components between "master and slave" is betrayed at the end of the story. The prelude chapters at the end do clarify things to some extent. But as you are there with the wife through everything, it is difficult to imagine that she could ever grow to fully trust and accept her master.
Vivian has every material need met but she cant stand the touch of her husband. He wants her even after 8 years. He sends her to therapy which the therapist was recommended to him. She goes and the therapist is a little unorthodox and sends her to a spa at the dome. At this spa one of the owners gives her a happy ending massage but she needs more so she come back because he taped that session and threatens to show her husband. After a few sessions he takes her to his house which happens to be a submissive training house and he cannot let her go. She wants to escape but Anton and his associates wont let her go. The ending was a surprise and I truly enjoyed it
